Your role as Data Manager:

The Data Manager will be part of a team responsible for managing and leading data operations with a strong hands on emphasis to carrying out data activities in alignment with the Bank’s Cybersecurity Program. The position will also manage the implementation of the Function’s methodology for optimizing related operations. This includes leading the evaluation and effectiveness of daily security operations and recommending \ performing remediation tactics.  More specifically these activities include:

  • Lead, plan and execute data projects associated with the operations of  FRS Cybersecurity \ Identity and Access Management programs and standards across the Corporate Group
  • Monitor the Group’s daily information security operations (with a particular emphasis on SOX) including the analysis of log files
  • Lead and mature the Group’s Analytic Product Framework to ensure data is secure     
  • Drive data access decisions in file shares, SharePoint sites, and data environments
  • Maintain inventories of all data assets using ISNY provided methodology and tooling
  • Ensure appropriate classification of SharePoint sites and works within the Group to remediate issues
  • Leads access certifications and assigns owners to data and sites
  • Identifies privileged access within SharePoint (and other environments) and assigns it appropriately using ISNY tooling and standards.
  • Leads Active Directory Group restructuring (and similar environments) for data access
  • Lead internal information security operations reviews including advising management on how to mitigate weaknesses or risks
  • Ensure CG data systems and products  are in compliance with Information Security policies and procedures
  • Lead internal teams in conducting security control assessments
  • Coordinate with TG and external vendors to close identified defects, risks, and vulnerabilities 
  • Collaborate with the FRS security communities in support of activities
  • Lead \ develop \ and maintain logical data diagrams identifying flow of data across SOX activities, internal audits, and SAFR exercises
  • Maintain and execute data-sharing agreements
  • Lead cross-functional team initiatives and projects

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to department functions or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience (ex. Data management, Information security, risk management and compliance)
  • Expertise in leading and executing the Group’s operations and security review activities in accordance with Federal Reserve System Standards and industry standards (i.e. NIST, Security Assurance for Federal Reserve (SAFR), Sarbanes Oxley, Identity Access Management)
  • Broad knowledge of information security and privacy fundamentals
  • Strong knowledge of data management fundamentals and analytic product operations
  • In-depth knowledge of business application portfolio and associated access requirements
  • Proven ability in executing information security operations from reviewing log files, processing identity related change requests, requirements definition activities for projects, testing and implementation
  • Understanding of compliance, audit process and ability to adhere/manage various risk controls 
  • Proven ability to interact well with various business, technical, and security teams to successfully deliver on rapidly changing information security needs ( Cybersecurity Program, Identity Access Management Program, etc)
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships across the Information Security and Risk Functions of the Bank
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Additional Skills: 

  • Ability to actively work towards Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is a plus.
