Job Summary:


The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a Facilities Planner position in our Facilities Management department.  This role provides a wide variety of building related design and facilities planning services for the Bank and Branch offices.  The Facilities Planner tasks and activities address changing business needs, provide Bank staff with an attractive, functional, and safe work environment, and often support strategic Bank growth and/or other business objectives.  



Key Activities: 

   
Key activities include workstation and office space planning, furniture and fixture procurement, construction document development with AutoCAD software, and budget development.  With management direction and oversight, the candidate will be responsible for the project management of small to moderate scale projects ranging from workstation reconfigurations, office remodels, and office additions. Project tasks will include design development, budget development scheduling, move coordination, furniture, fixture, finish and equipment procurement, contractor management, project monitoring, and close out.  The candidate will develop, with minimal oversight, Request for Proposals (RFP’s).  The candidate should be knowledgeable of interior design principles and construction methods with the ability to research and specify furniture, fixtures, and finishes that are functional, align with project requirements and are within the Bank’s aesthetic finish.  The candidate shall assist with project oversight of outside contractors and vendors to ensure

project plans, specifications, and requirements are followed.  The candidate shall monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure timely and accurate completion.  A candidate must provide high quality customer service, responding appropriately to customer requests in a respectful and timely manner, and shall collaborate and brainstorm with colleagues and clients.

Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design, interior architecture, architecture, or related business field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two years of space planning or interior design experience is required preferred.
  • At least three years of CAD experience, preferably AutoCad.
  • Strong knowledge of computer-based programs, including, but not limited to, Adobe, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project is required.
  • Good knowledge of building and life safety code standards.
  • Strong knowledge, understanding and interpretation of construction documents is preferred.
  • Strong design and facilities planning skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills, excellent customer service skills, effective, clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • High level of initiative.
  • Ability to multitask and use time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
