Financial Analyst
Position Overview:

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking to hire a highly motivated Financial Analyst to join the Financial Planning & Accounting department within the Financial Management Group. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Financial Planning & Control unit to serve as the Strategic Finance Business Partner, liaising between business lines and Financial Management.
As a Financial Analyst, you will play a vital role in becoming a trusted partner with the business area in delivering the most value to the organization by providing “real time” financial support and analysis, enabling better decision making, and supporting the delivery of strategy and performance. You will work alongside key business decision makers, influencing and advising them on financial plans and future investment choices.
Responsibilities:
- Working proactively with key business partners across all levels of the organization to develop successful relationships
- Networking with groups to understand their perspectives and challenges
- Demonstrate ability to rapidly build collaborative working relationships and trust with senior level executives
- Collaborate to promote and share business partnering ideas, experiences, and best practices
- Work closely with and influence business areas to ensure strategic decisions are made for the Bank
- Understand demand capacity management and identify opportunities for tolerable risk taking within the financial plans ensuring achievability
- Support business areas by providing mentoring and training to improve financial performance
- Possess a detailed understanding of business strategy and finance business practices including cost allocation, expense and capital forecasting, and financial planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or other related fields
- 2+years of working experience in financial planning and analysis
- Knowledge of financial planning and analysis development, reporting, and modeling
- Knowledge of corporate cost accounting
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- Ability to think creatively and be inventive within the context of financial modeling, analytics, and strategic presentations
- Ability to exercise strong judgement with sensitive/confidential data
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent priority setting skills with the flexibility and adaptability to respond to shifting business needs and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
