Position Summary


Provides analytical and project support for Financial Support Services particularly focused on financial reporting and accounting for fixed assets.  Demonstrates increased skills in collecting and analyzing data, developing management information systems and technology solutions, and coordinating projects across a broad range of business functions. Responsible for complex activities associated with financial planning, performance and risk management, financial and operational reporting and analysis, and dealing directly with functional management. Provides functional and technical advice and training to less experienced staff.

Essential Accountabilities


  1. Manages and/or conducts projects related to department operational improvements, staffing needs, and/or procedure/policy review and update. Develops recommendations and makes presentations to management and department staff. Educates others on new procedures/policies.

  2. Researches market/industry practices. Collects and analyzes data or information, draws appropriate conclusions. Presents results in written reports or through oral presentations using visual aids.

  3. Prepares the Bank’s financial statements and footnotes.

  4. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and assists with the month end, quarter end, and year end closing processes.

  5. Prepares account reconciliations.

  6. Provides support for audits and reviews.

  7. Develops, revises, and updates accounts policies, controls, and procedures.  Comments and provides suggestions on System and Bank Policies and Procedures that involve accounting processes.

  8. Designs management information reports, tools, and systems.

  9. Leads or completes ad-hoc projects and/or assignments.

  10. Coordinates business requirements and process changes for automated systems.

  11. Participates in process and resolution of complex issues primarily involving financial reporting and asset management.

  12. Actively participates on Bank initiatives involving accounting-related issues.

  13. Designs and/or leads the development of management information reports, tools, and systems.

  14. Develops training plans and materials for department staff. Provides guidance on reporting and financial requirements for Treasury investments, as appropriate.

  15. Monitors quality measures, performance metrics, and department budgets; identifies and predicts trends.

  16. Manages, coordinates, or conducts activities related to identifying and managing department risks, such as: Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) assessment and compliance activities, COSO testing and documentation, Information Security awareness, adherence and Business Continuity testing and plan maintenance.

  17. Interprets and implements new/revised accounting standards.

  18. May review work prepared by others.

  19. Demonstrates in-depth understanding of core business systems, application and tools; suggests and assists with changes.

  20. Compiles, analyzes and interprets data; builds financial models that provide accurate and timely information; communicates conclusions and recommends a course of action.

  21. Provides complex financial analysis in support of the Bank's and/or Treasury's operational and strategic goals.

  22. Follows somewhat defined procedures.  Problems encountered are somewhat complex.  Make decisions and works independently.

  23. Subject to audits from internal auditors, Board of Governors examiners, and independent auditing firms.

  24. Adheres to critical deadlines that cannot be altered.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Adheres to the Bank's attendance policies through regular and prompt attendance





Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (Accounting preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or

  • Associate's Degree and a minimum of 7 years of related experience

  • CPA is preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Financial regulations, procedures, and practices (e.g, Accounting, PACS, FAM, FRAM, CPIC, GAAP)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and other business related applications.

  • Ability to perform independent research

  • Project management, including organization, planning, and execution

  • Knowledge of Workday is a plus
