The Financial Markets Group analyzes public policy issues in financial markets from multiple perspectives. The group applies legal, market practitioner, technological and other expertise to study challenges and risks in financial markets and infrastructures.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, Financial Markets Group you will research complex topics associated with securities and derivatives, financial markets trading, and technology with an emphasis on systemic risk. You will develop expertise and support large-scale division projects, build relationships with highly informed, technically accomplished internal and external stakeholders, and support presentations for broad audiences.


  • Evaluate developments in securities and derivatives trading, with an emphasis on high-speed trading, algorithmic trading, technology, and regulatory changes that impact trading and markets and/or development in domestic and international payment systems to arrive at sound, supportable conclusions
  • Prepare and deliver presentations regarding financial markets and payments system issues for different audiences
  • Develop contacts with representatives of financial markets trading and technology and/or representatives of payments industry firms
  • Conduct and/or supervise policy issues relating to domestic and international financial markets and maintaining awareness of current and emerging developments within the financial landscape and regulatory climate
  • Participate and present at the policy group and industry meetings
  • Prepare papers, reports, and detailed articles of industry studies, policy memoranda and other internal and external communications

Your Background

  • Bachelor`s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Entry level experience
  • Some knowledge of domestic and global financial markets and payments economic, legal, and operational frameworks, and in-depth knowledge of financial markets and payments industry participants and roles
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication, presentation and editing skills
  • Excellent people and project management skills

  • Domestic / international travel approximately up to 10%
