Integration Engineer/Sr. Integration Engineer

 

The Federal Reserve Bank’s National IT department has a fantastic opportunity to join the IAM team (Identity Access Management) as an Integration Engineer.  As in Integration Engineer, you will assist in integrating identity access software throughout the entire Federal Reserve System.  You will rely on your technical skills (preferable JAVA, SQL and OSI knowledge) to support incident management, defect analysis/resolution, and to perform updates to the IAM suite of applications.  This role is with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, but can be located in Richmond, VA, Boston, MA, San Francisco, CA, Salt Lake City, Utah, or Dallas, TX.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with organizations across the Federal Reserve’s 12 districts, and National IT.  You will rely upon your strong communication skills to effectively interact across the organization with individuals at all levels (staff to executive).

 

Essential responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Architects to forecast hardware and implementation of new infrastructure related designs.

  • Coordinate Middleware team implementation and testing activities for Infrastructure related changes.

  • Assist Developers/DBA’s to troubleshoot connectivity or infrastructure related functionality with service partners.

  • Supports integration service release management activities to the IAM suite of applications.

  • Schedule and implement intake of minor infrastructure changes from service partners.

  • Manage change control requests for Infrastructure changes both within and external to department.

  • You will be coordinating major and minor incidents with IAM and key stakeholders.

  • You will ensure compliance with National IT service level agreements.

  • Coordinate root cause analysis and defect resolution with IAM and key stakeholders.

  • Ensure that all incidents are in compliance with security guidelines.

  • Provide communication to appropriate stakeholders.

  • Provide technical support for complex technical issues and initiatives related to large-scale applications, systems, databases and/or other technical products and services.

  • Use/create diagnostic, simulation and other tools to maintain, troubleshoot and restore service or data to systems.

  • Help evaluate or review queries to extract data, create standard databases, or perform limited programming to fine tune systems supported.

  • You will provide root cause analysis, resolution and documentation on problem tickets (using Incident Management System)

  • Tracks common issues and implement fixes or tools to address their root causes.

  • Updates/writes documentation and procedures and provides related training to stakeholders.

  • Maintain and distribute reports to customers and partners.

  • Implement software updates.
  • Responsibilities include rotational, 24/7 on call support.

 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other technical degree, or equivalent work experience

  • At staff level, requires 3 or more years of relevant technical or business work experience, at senior level requires 5 or more years of relevant technical or business work experience.

  • JAVA programming skills are required.
  • SQL (prefer Oracle) skills required.
  • Understanding of the OSI model.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact and work successfully with customers and co-workers is essential.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, especially for problem solving under pressure

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Eagerness to acquire new skills in areas such as databases, programming, and information security operations

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks independently

  • Willing and able to provide 24/7 support on a rotational basis.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or hold a permanent resident status/ green card with intent to become a U.S. Citizen.

 
Preferred skills:
  • Identity and Access Management knowledge (IAM).
  • Experience with Active Directory, Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition, Radiant Logic, and other directory oriented products and services.

  • Familiar with server administration in either Windows or Linux/Unix.
