Title: IT Manager (Big Data Platform) (Assistant IT Manager/IT Manager)
Location: San Francisco, CA

 

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s Information Technology department has an immediate opening for an IT Manager within the Advanced Data and Analytics Capabilities organization. The primary responsibility of the IT Manager role is to lead and manage developing and supporting a big data product offering, including contributing to the strategy, product roadmap, implementation and maintenance of features and capabilities with an ongoing focus on continuous improvement. This position will interact with internal and external constituents; including senior leadership at the Regional District and National System level, vendors and lines of business. Contribute towards projects within the Big Data efforts across the enterprise to ensure stakeholder needs are met or exceeded. Strong technical management experience related to data platforms, including Information Technology Program skills, and experience with product management, development and support are a requirement.

 

Highlights of Responsibilities:
• Personnel Leadership - Manage a team of application development and support resources, which includes, but is not limited to: Staff motivation; Career development; Assessing training needs; Building and maintaining trust and respect; Setting expectations and providing continuous feedback on performance; Coaching, professional development and mentoring; Succession planning.
• Portfolio Management - Monitor projects and production support to ensure adherence to defined standards and industry best practices; Drive the delivery of high quality, high value products to meet or exceed customer expectations; Compile and manage demand for services; Create and manage team budgets; Participate in customer engagement and product onboarding including leading ongoing customer communication and coordination.
• Group and System Initiatives - Act as a change agent and champion; Encourage innovation and process improvement; Collaborate with IT peers and superiors to define process improvement initiatives. Actively participate, support, and advocate for group, division, bank and system-level initiatives.
• Product & Operational Support – Lead release planning for product support, including upgrade strategies and developing product enhancements for operations. Lead an agile team including conducting sprint planning, weekly scrums, maintaining JIRA board and tracking tasks. Prepare and conduct presentations on product release deliverables. Participate in customer engagement and product onboarding including leading ongoing customer communication and coordination.

 

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in any business/technical discipline or equivalent experience
• At Assistant IT Manager level, typically requires five or more years of proven experience in software development projects and supporting critical  business applications with three or more years of proven experience in managing projects with moderate to high in risk and complexity; at IT Manager  level, typically requires seven or more years of proven experience in software development projects and supporting critical business applications  with five or more years of proven experience in managing projects with moderate to high in risk and complexity
• 3 + experience with managing projects using Big data Technologies
• Experience in successfully leading, coaching and developing staff
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to include: demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues succinctly
• Demonstrable ability to collaborate with others, initiate action, adapt to change, demonstrate leadership and accountability
• Bachelor's Degree in any business/technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 20% of Travel is required
• Must be Green Card holder with intent to become a U.S. Citizen, or a U.S. citizen

 

Preferred Skills:
• Banking and Financial Services industry experience or large program management experience
• Experience in leading product and production support
• Experience with Agile team development processes and practices
• Certified SCRUM Master
• Experience in big data cloud implementations
