What we do: 

The New York Fed is looking for a Leave Case Management & Benefits Specialist who will support the administration of employee benefits, leaves and the interactive accommodation process.  Additionally, you will also develop and hone your skills by supporting projects, and providing consultation and education to address Bank employees` leaves and benefits- related inquiries. . Reporting to the Leave Case Management & Benefits Manager, you will be an important member of a small team in which your experience and expertise will be leveraged to support our unique 3,100 employees.

Your role as a Leave Case Management & Benefits Specialist:

  • Support the administration of the Bank`s Leave of Absence Policy, the interactive ADA accommodations process and Workers` Compensation Plan.
  • Ensure complete and compliant STD/FMLA/LOA administration
  • Help with ADA accommodation requests, working under guidance of senior team members and partnering with other teams in People & Engagement and Legal.
  • Identify opportunities and gaps in the benefits, leaves, workers` compensation and accommodation processes, suggests solutions to management, and assists with implementation.
  • Assist with department needs, such as Annual Enrollment, Health & Benefits fair, rehires; troubleshoot discrepancies in which benefit/retirement plans are administered.
  • Help ensure benefits materials are up to date, easy to understand and consume by employees. Collaborate with the People & Engagement communication team on benefit announcements and website updates.
  • Review and reconcile benefits utilization reports and invoices
  • Provide high- quality customer service through support and education of employees and stakeholders.

What we are looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience in benefits, leave management, workers` compensation and accommodation administration.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and state regulations regarding employee benefits and leaves eligibility, including Section 125 regulations, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, ADA and relevant Workers` Compensation statutes.
