The Human Resources (HR) Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York partners with senior management and Business Groups to advance and support the Bank’s culture of excellence by fostering an inclusive environment to engage and motivate staff. This is achieved through an organizational framework to recruit, develop, compensate, reward and retain the Bank’s diverse employees by designing, communicating and executing effective human capital programs; ensuring compliance with applicable laws; adhering to best practices; and providing timely and accurate information for staff, managers and senior leaders.


In this exciting new role, you will support a portfolio of HR projects and assist with the build out of a Project Management Office (PMO) to advance the Bank’s strategic priorities related to its People Strategy. The selected individual will support and coordinate HR projects that are aligned with the Group’s current and future strategic prioritizes, including the rollout of a Human Capital Management platform and new People Strategy for the Bank. You will also engage with HR management to ensure risk transparency, accountability, and proactive risk mitigation where appropriate.



Your role as a HR Project Management & Compliance Associate:

  • Effectively support a wide range of cross-functional HR and projects in support of the Bank’s People Strategy
  • Utilize and support project management capabilities in the Group including a set of standard project management tools and best practices
  • Partner with stakeholders maintaining effective communication channels
  • Support quarterly and annual SOX certification process with internal audit teams

The selected individual will be charged with ensuring best-in-class project management practices are utilized resulting a consistent approach that is aligned with the HR’s current and future strategic prioritizes, including the rollout of a People Strategy and Human Capital Management platform. You will also engage with HR management to ensure risk transparency, accountability, and proactive risk mitigation where appropriate.


Your role as a Senior HR Project Manager:

  • Effectively support and drive a wide range of cross-functional, strategic HR programs and projects of large and small scale in support of the Bank’s People Strategy
  • Build and promote project management capabilities in the Group including a set of standard project management tools and best practices
  • Initiate and drive continuous improvement projects; create a process framework for the HR group to enable standardization and optimization of processes
  • Develop strong stakeholder relationships, maintaining effective communication channels
  • Mentor/ support team members to further develop project management skills, competencies and methods
  • Identify risk education and awareness opportunities across HR; develop and customize presentations or content specifically for HR; engage HR management when risk-based decisions are required
  • Manage quarterly and annual SOX certification process with internal audit teams

What we are looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience in project management, audit, consulting; human resources experience preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated experience scoping and driving delivery of projects and achieving results independently, on time and within budget
  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented and skilled at building consensus in matrixed organizations
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize accordingly and make decisions as required
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of project management tools and methodologies; PMP, Agile, Six Sigma or BPM certification preferred
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and control with experience auditing and reporting procedures strongly preferred
