Education and Experience:

High School graduate or equivalent. 

Four years of progressive experience in Bank security procedures, law enforcement, public safety, military or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Knowledge and Skills

Strong problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal skills.   

Effective leadership, project planning, and analytical skills. 

Ability to work without direct supervision.   

Thorough knowledge of Law Enforcement Department policies and procedures and Law Enforcement Control Center equipment and supplies; demonstrated ability to function within the scope of these guidelines.   

Effective verbal and written communications skills. 

Demonstrated proficiency in viewing and sending messages over the Law Enforcement Communication and e-mail Systems.   

Ability to operate a personal computer (PC) using standard Bank applications (Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes) to complete assignments. Firearms proficiency with pistol, carbine, and shotgun. 

Knowledge of CPR and AED equipment; must be certified in CPR.

 

Other Requirements:  

Valid motor vehicle operator`s license.  

Must successfully pass pre-employment psychological and annual physical examination administered by qualified physicians.

Must pass Written Constitutional Law Class which grants arrest powers under U.S. Patriots Act. 

Must pass minimum physical fitness requirements during yearly scheduled physical. 

Must pass random drug testing. 

Must respond to emergencies, restrain individuals, and may engage in hand to hand combat.   

Must be able to complete all job tasks of a Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officer II (FRLEO II).

 

*Working Conditions (other than normal office environment):   

Some exposure to noisy conditions when qualifying on pistol range.  

May be required to perform duties outside the building in all types of weather.

 

*Appearance and Behavior Expectations:

Demonstrates good public relations skills when dealing with internal and external customers.   

Adheres to proper uniform, appearance, and equipment standards at all times.  

Demonstrates good conflict resolution skills and a thorough understanding of the use of force continuum.   

Acts as a role model for other staff by always presenting a positive, supportive, team oriented and professional image when on duty.   

Follows established procedures and rules of etiquette when using communication devices (telephone, radio, and intercom).   

Displays leadership and initiative in identifying problems and/or operational improvements and formulating solutions to address these needs.

 

Physical Requirements:

Must pass minimum physical fitness requirements during yearly scheduled physical.  

Ability to walk, climb ladders, ramps or stairs in order to conduct inspections or assist in emergencies.   

Ability to push wheelchair, handcart or dollies.   

Ability to bend and lift, including the ability to assist or personally lift a human being in the event of an emergency.

 

*Medical Standards:

Vision - Corrected visual acuity at least 20/30 with both eyes corrected or uncorrected. Vision must be able to be corrected to at least 20/100 in the worse eye. Must be able to distinguish basic colors.

Hearing - No loss greater than 30 dB at 500, 1000, 2000, or 40 dB at 3000 and 4000. The use of hearing aid is permitted.

Cardiovascular - Any condition which significantly interferes with heart function may be disqualifying.

Respiratory - Any condition which significantly interferes with breathing capacity may be disqualifying.

Neurological - Dysfunction of the central or peripheral nervous system which significantly increases the probability of accident or interferes with the ability to perform physical tasks may be disqualifying.   Musculoskeletal - Disorder of the musculoskeletal system which interferes with the ability to perform physical requirements may be disqualifying.

Background investigations including drug testing are required for all new hires as a condition of employment, after the job offer is made.  Employment may not begin until the Bank accepts the results of the background investigation.
