Title: Sr./Security Architect (Sr./Integration Architect)

The Federal Reserve Bank is looking for a Lead Security Architect to work with the National Integration Services team who is focused on enabling a distributed and scalable API Management Platform for the Federal Reserve System. This group is part of the Information Technology Services (ITS) department of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (FRBSF) which develops and maintains tools for internal customers, including Cash, Statistics and Reserves, and Bank Supervision and Regulation and supports National IT (NIT) by providing services for the Enterprise.


This position is a key consultant regarding access management and policy enforcement for the platform around the Federal Reserve System (FRS). You will work closely with Application Development teams and other security functions to ensure that there is coordination with their activities and play a crucial role in the identification, analysis, evaluation, life-cycle management and adoption of security technologies. You will work cross-functionally with Developers, Architects, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Service Managers across multiple teams in a rapidly evolving environment. The high-level goal of this position is to accelerate customer adoption and increase customer engagement of the API Management Platform while maintaining the highest level information security standards.


To be successful in this role, you must have stellar leadership and communication skills, with an excellent software development background in SOA/MSA environments developing services, and thrive working cross-functionally with several teams. You will need to learn new technologies and complex applications very quickly and manage numerous technical requirements. Job Responsibilities:
• Work with Lines of Business (LOBs)  to implement data and application security best practices
• Assist in the evaluation of overall risk for IT systems and the data they contain and process, accounting for the people, processes, and technologies that provide security controls
• Maintain an expert knowledge in the field of Information Security and the related issues, systems, processes, products, and services to extend the organizations ability to optimize use of emerging technologies
• Create and maintain enterprise security standards applicable to all technologies in the group portfolio
• Work with LOBs to enable, architect, implement, and support APIs
• Help install, configure, and support an API Management solution
• Participate in sculpting optimal operational support models to drive secure, yet user friendly, access management and control processes
• Work with Identity and Access Management (IAM) on tooling and capability roadmap
• Work to enable DevOps and CI/CD practices through the API Management solution
• Management of customer satisfaction, best practices and benchmarking
• Be a key player in our C4E (center for enablement) effort to help bring about the cultural and organizational change needed for the inception of an FRS Microservices Exchange (enterprise asset reuse and interoperability)
• Building strong cross-organizational relationships and effectively influencing staff across the IT organization and broader FRS
• Evaluate and assess risk as part of the life-cycle analysis


Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related technical field or equivalent work experience
• At Architect level typically has over five or more years of experience with all aspects of a project from design through development, testing, implementation, and production with extensive technical breadth through experience in the IT industry, at Sr. Architect level typically has over seven or more years of experience with all aspects of a project from design through development, testing, implementation, and production with extensive technical breadth through experience in the IT industry
• 5+ years of Architecture experience
• Practical experience and knowledge of Security Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture, Microservice Architecture, Microservices, and API Gateways, with at least one of the following technologies: 3Scale, Mulesoft, Apigee Edge, CA Technologies, Tibco Mashery, Axway, and IBM Gateway
• Proven experience in working collaboratively, coordinating among cross-functional teams and the ability to effectively work with organizational differences and priorities; consistently provide a clear and consistent technical vision to advance project goals
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and analytical skills; strong and demonstrated interpersonal skills to include influence, negotiation, collaboration and diplomacy
• Must be a U.S. Citizen


Preferred Skills

• Experience with and/or working knowledge of Federal Reserve Bank Lines of Business and applications
• 5 or more years of experience working in Identity & Access Management  (preferred)
• Languages / protocols: Experienced with: OIDC, OAuth, HTML, TLS, JSON, LDAP, web services (SOAP, REST)
• Java EE knowledge preferred
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP Directories, and OKTA
• Demonstrated ability to integrate various security & data protection technologies and controls into a cohesive architecture that sufficiently mitigates risk to the enterprise
• Deep technical understanding of and experience with security technologies including, but not limited to, intrusion detection/prevention, event correlation, firewall, antivirus, anti-spam, policy enforcement, patch/configuration management, audit, secure application development, etc.
• Thorough understanding of the security controls provided in common platforms and applications including, but not limited to: Unix, Linux, Windows, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Microsoft Outlook, J2EE and .NET applications, etc.
• Familiarity with hosted and cloud services and the related security implications and control approaches
• Experience with applicable control frameworks and compliance mandates
• Executive presence; highly effective communicator; well-honed influencing and negotiating skills
• Solid problem-solving and analytical skills; able to quickly digest any issue/problem encountered and recommend an appropriate solution
• Strategic thinker; visionary; innovative
